We have a similar problem with people's bad eyesight, we mainly have 17" CRT monitors but of course everyone wants a new LCD panel. The problem is that they refuse to run at anything other than 800 x 600 resolution because otherwise it's too small and they cant read it, sure I can increase the font and icon size but they dont like that. Sure they want that brand new 19" widescreen monitor but with a native resolution of 1440 x 900 they would still try and run it at 800 x 600, in the end we talked the boss in getting some cheap ex lease 17" LCDs because anything else would be a waste of money, I even convinced the users to run in 1024 by 768 and wear their glasses...
